Clergy of the European Diocese convened in Geneva .
To
assess the needs of the Eritrean faithful in the European countries,
Clergy of the European Diocese of the Eritrean Orthodox Church convened
in Geneva, Switzerland.
The three-day meeting took place on May 4–6, 2012.
To meet the spiritual needs of the church’s faithful, the clergy elected seven people that consist of five clergies. Under the guidance of His Grace Bishop Mekarios, the elected servants will serve the Diocese in the following dimensions:
Fr. Tekle-mariam, chair
Fr. Yonas, secretary
Fr. Phanuel, education
Fr. Mulu-Berhan, public relations
Fr. Habtom, communication
Mr. Daniel Kesete, finance and accounting
Mr. Berhane Hadege, document control
Representing His Grace Bishop Mekarios, Fr. G. Michael Yohannes, priest of Medhane-Alem Church of Atlanta, GA, USA, participated at the clergy meeting. On his return, Fr. Yohannes will report directly to His Grace on the Diocese’s successful meeting.
It is to be remembered that the European Diocese was established in December 2011 by His Grace Bishop Mekarios, Bishop of the North American Archdiocese of the Eritrean Orthodox Church.
